We Love Derby Days...
I mean at the end of the day, all it really is, is that the opposition live a few miles closer to you, than anyone else (with a few exceptions), and yes bragging rights play a big part in derby games, but why? because bragging rights are all you're realy taking from any game (other than 3 points)! so why do we get so hyped up on local rivals day, about winning the same 2 things we aim to win every week. I understand some clubs have reason for hating others, e.g. Bradford - Leeds (Odsal - say no more) and various others, but other than that, what reason have we really? It's amazing what a few miles can do

For me its just local pride...like you say win it and you get 3 points the same as any game..but i love em and luckily we have had plenty in the championship this season...hopefully looking forward to some new ones next if Huddersfield and the owls come up, of course theres a good chance we might be saying goodbye to our friends at the lane..

Ayee our closest game has been bury this year. not actually classed as a derby but thoroughly enjoyed both games (valley parade and gigg lane) Rochdale was always a good trip aswell, the chip shop behind the away end is fantastic! Bit of luck we'll get a proper derby next season, if we go up and meet our "friends" at the galpharm!
