Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

Beattie not on my list: Robins

BARNSLEY boss Mark Robins is surprised he has been linked with a move for former Sheffield United striker James Beattie.
Sought-after Stoke City hitman Beattie is rumoured to be on his way out of the Britannia Stadium following a reported bust-up with Stoke manager Tony Pulis which stems back to last season.
But speaking to The Star, Robins admitted: "That one's really come out of the blue!
"I'm always interested in quality players, but that one's pure speculation. I've not tried to get him. I don't mind being linked with players, it comes with the territory, but I don't we could afford him. I've got a lot of players to get in, but I'm happy with the way things are going at the moment.
"The fans have got to be patient and so have we, it's a very quiet time at the moment."
And Robins has also hinted that a deal for Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp is also likely to be out of the club's price range.
"I don't think we can manage it, again I think money would be an issue," added Robins.
"I've got a big task ahead of me and I've managed to get two really good players in, but we're still building and want to keep improving."
Robins, who is keen to recruit from Europe, was in Portugal over the weekend looking for talent as he watched Portugal versus Holland Under-21s. "It was a worthwhile trip and I managed to have a good look at a few players I wanted to see. Whether I could do anything with any players remains to be seen, but some can be crossed off and others ticked boxes."
Seven players have left Oakwell, although Robins has already recruited two new replacements in highly-rated Wolves defender Jason Shackell and exciting Motherwell winger Jim O'Brien.
