I can sort of understand the 2nd part of your post , cos i dislike anyone that Boro are playing against - but the grudge over maradona's goal baffles me. It was TWENTY FOUR years ago ffs , and if a similar incident had occured at the other end of the pitch (Lineker for instance) , england would've accepted the goal , and no doubt english "fans" would still find it funny now.
I'm pretty sure i remember Paul Scholes scoring against scotland with his hand , but no-one sees that as a major crime.

Surely thats just football in general though? say if something like that happened in a Boro-Sunderland game in Boro's favour surely you'd be the last to complain about it? like mark vidukas offside goal to keep us in the prem and stopping Arsenal winning the title, if anything with it being offside made it feel better.

Re: England Badge
Leedslad - Agreed , so surely no-one can seriously blame Maradona or Argentina for their goal then ?
Tommy Star - To me , it makes no difference how big or small a stage - they're both the same. Ypu win some , you lose some - it happens

Re: England Badge
on a fun note at work all the office sections were allocated a team from the world cup to decorate the sections in if wanted.
Ours was Argentina. I had pics of the Belgrano going down, pics of Argie prisoners in the Falklands and some big tins of corned beef. It was funny when I did it but next day felt sorry for the poor sods so took them down.

Suppose what i forgot to say...is when it's when it is other way round, it isn't always forgot and so it shouldn't be imo, when Leeds play at riverside if you keep an eye out chances are you'll spot one or two with stuff like "waccoe 75" or "Paris 75" on the back of their shirt.
