Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

BARNSLEY boss Mark Robins has been "really pleased" with the club's start to pre-season as the first-team squad are put through their paces ahead of the new Championship campaign.
And Robins is confident a tough training programme is the perfect way to get his ambitious side ready for their pre-season friendly fixtures and then the league campaign.

"The players have had a tough programme. It's early days, but I'm really pleased with what I've seen," Robins told The Star.

"Everyone has been working hard in training and they know we've got to be ready for August when the season gets under way. But we're also looking beyond now and injury prevention for later in the season."

Robins has signed five new players ahead of the new campaign with Goran Lovre, Jason Shackell, Jim O'Brien, Liam Dickinson and Jay McEveley having joined the Tykes' ranks.

"We let a lot of players go from last season, but we needed new faces in the club and those players have fitted in really well," added Robins.

"We needed a new vigour at this club and wanted to go down a fresh route, that's what we've done. I could have easily gone for the easy option and just got any old player in, but that's not me.

"I'm happy to wait for quality. There might be some new players that the fans might not know much about, but I've brought in lots of quality - and I'm happy to wait for more.

"The proof of the pudding is always in the eating, so I'm looking forward to that. I have always said that we have to get value for money and do what's best for the club."

Sounds good but davey came out with such shite last summer
