Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

BARNSLEY manager Mark Robins today pulled off a sensational move by bringing Scottish international striker Garry O'Connor to Oakwell on an emergency loan from Premier League side Birmingham City.

The 27-year-old hit man has netted four goals in 15 internationals for Scotland and put pen-to-paper on an an initial one month loan with the option to extend.

Born in Edinburgh, Garry started his professional career at Hibernian, bagging an impressive 58 goals in 166 games for the Easter Road side. His prolific form North of the Border earned a move to Lokomotiv Moscow in 2006 and another seven goals in 33 matches in Russian football.

He returned to the British game in June 2007 when a fee of £2.7m brought him to St Andrews. He has made 57 appearances for Birmingham City, netting 12 goals. He made his international debut against South Korea in May 2002.

The relevant paperwork has now been completed and the deal is subject to registration with the Football Authorities.
