Re: Rovers v Norwich
Leaving Lockwood and Stock out proved to be the key if you ask me. Dumbuya was good at the back and also likes to get down the wing nippy little player as for wilson held his own in midfield

Were O'Connor and Martis paired at the back?
Dumbuya looked good going forward but a little bit 'iffy' whilst defending (some work needed there) , he was always looking for the ball on the right wing but time after time the ball didn't go to him when it should have as he can both run at defences and put dangerous balls into the penalty area. Willo had a very 'solid' game imo, nothing sparkling but he does what he does for us well.
Martis and O'Connor were paired at the back and bar 1/2 minor incidents looked more solid than of late , if anything it was Jimmy that made a couple of unusual errors by his very high standards....................a work in progress and certainly an improvement on recent displays.
Shiels came on as a sub later in the game and pepped us up a bit, I love this lads enthousiasm. Starter for the Leeds game I hope.
The 'starman' of course was Copps who appears to have found himself again over the last few games . When he 'ticks' the team 'ticks', it was great to see him rewarded now we just need Billy to swing into action and I fancy that will be very soon. Other folk scoring will take off the pressure of expectation a tad and he should now be able to relax into the Billy of last season ........given the service of course.

Thanks for that hoola - I do like the combination of Jimmy O and A. N. Other at centre back. I hope that Dumbuya can retain his place and provide us with some width and attacking prowess down the right - if he is lively as an attacking force, then perhaps this will negate the oppositions counter thrusts somewhat.
I've never used 'thrusts' in a football context before...............

Need to get Dumbaya signed up on a longer contract, think it was a short term deal he was offered in the summer...don't let him slip through our hands..

I think Dumbaya would be more effective as a right central midfielder and probably as an impact player to run at defences when we are struggling occasionally in the 2nd. half. Imo he is not yet being properly utilised as a holding and right winger type of player. The other lads and that includes Sulli didn't recognise the space that the lad made for himself on occasions by providing him with the ball quickly enough to take the steam out of the oppositions attack. When he has the ball at his feet he can keep it there and at speed, basically he is a right handful for the opposition's defence. Tracking back and his size are still the chinks in his armoury but he will learn in time.
When we can get our players fit enough it would be great to see both him and Chambo (providing there is room for both in the team ) making the oppositions defence move out of positions they are comfortable with and providing Sharp with better service from both wings as well as from the centre of the park where Stock, Oster and Gillet make mayhem . Thus better all round service to the Sharpmeister, when that happens we are going to be very good indeed.
