Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

Chris Wood Signs for Barnsley! Empty Chris Wood Signs for Barnsley!

NEW Zealand international striker Chris Wood has today turned down a host of Championship clubs to join Mark Robins' Oakwell revolution.

The 18-year-old, who featured in all three of his country's matches in South Africa last summer, has joined the Reds on a 93 day emergency loan and will go straight into the squad for Saturday's clash with Reading.

A young striker with enormous potential, Chris was born in Auckland and travelled to the other side of the world in 2008 to join West Bromwich Albion's Academy. Part of the New Zealand set up following his debut in the 2009 Confederations Cup, he made his first appearance for West Brom the same year. He has gone on to make 27 first team appearances for the Baggies.

Chris has won 13 international caps for New Zealand and is in the All Whites squad for next month's international double header against Honduras and Paraguay. Amazingly, Chris is the seventh New Zealand international to ply his trade at Oakwell following in the footsteps of Rory Fallon, David Mulligan, Leo Bertos, Jeremy Christie, Allan Pearce and Colin Walker.

The relevant paperwork has now been finalised and the deal is subject to registration with the Football Authorities.

Next thing before you know it Mark Robins will be trying to sound like Sean O'Driscoll!!!!!!

That's just the point WE weren't according to neutrals. same old same old.........more possession, shots on target, corners and we lose 3-0.
Sounds like a familiar story for us but as said before both clubs need to put this behind them and move on.
