The Yorkshire Football Forums
Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

John Radford, the Managing Director of One Call Insurance, has been named as the new chairman at Blue Square Premier club Mansfield Town. Radford has bought the Stags for a nominal £1 from prevous owners, Andy Sauders, Steve Hymas and Steve Middleton, and has promised that £250,000 will be pumped in to the cash-strapped club immediately, with a similar amount to be invested over the course of the season.
Radford's comany, One Call Insurance, are the current shirt sponsors of Doncaster Rovers after signing the new agreement in the summer, which is for a period of three seasons.
He said: "Mansfield is my home town, I was born here, I went to school here and I love Mansfield Town. My intention is to get us back into the Football League. I now have the opportunity to help the town of Mansfield out. We have no problems as far as funding is concerned and will speak to the manager about the transfer window."

He says he will put in a similar amount to JR , good luck to him...if he had money to spend wonder why JR did not get him on the board at Doncaster..

probably because he couldn't care less about donny....he's a mansfield fan. good luck to the guy, there's nothing wrong with ambition, although i think he might have set himself up for a bit of a fall saying he wants to put as much money into them as JR has done with us....now they'll be expecting it...

Nobody has, he's a Mansfield fan wanting to put money into his home town club.....good luck to him.
As to emulating the Rovers, well I hope he does but I very much doubt it. That takes buckets of money, masses of dedication and a lot of luck. Wink
