I've just been reading on my favourite forum about the atmosphere being dead at Oakwell. I don't usually post on there cos some things really wind me that they come out with an i reckon i'd be banned quite quick! But i had to register an comment on this issue.

People keep going on about lack of singing an atmosphere etc.... well one simple solution (as i have told them) is to SING! Don't moan just sing then we'll have the atmosphere and noise people want!!

Same at our place and for that matter in most stadia around the country.
2000 'away' fans can always outsing 20,000 'home' supporters.
Most fora have the same comments on them irrespective of size, reasons seem to be new stadia, seating instead of terraces and a general lack of loyalty to your own team/town/country.
Many now think it's uber cool to sit and politely clap whilst texting their mates in the pub etc. if they get to actually watch 1/2 of a game I would be amazed ; if I've got this wrong then please discuss it!

Sadly you would get more enthousiasm out of a night at the opera.............wtf is going on ?
There is still that 'band of brothers' thing with 'away' supporters but that used to be the same in your own supposed fortress..............it's simply crumbled almost everywhere.
