Are the Board looking at us at the moment as a team that can get promoted this season..we are scoring goals for fun the midfield is second to none, just sort out the defence " Killgallon " and maybe another quality signing and are we really able to move on in the second half of the season...we will probably never have a better chance and maybe JR and the board think the same....

True but i think they have had to promise SOD funds no matter what he says by saying we have got no money so its a case give me the funds and i will get you promoted

According to JR at the seasons start , Sod had been given the biggest budget that any Rovers manager had ever had, admit plenty of that will have gone on wages to the existing players, but the only significant signing we saw was Billy , don't get me wrong he cost 1.2 million but i do wonder if they regret not signing Shackell, but that can now be rectified with a quality player like Killgallon signing for us...and we usually do very well in the second half of the season..

I wonder if Shacks is regretting going to Barnsley now. Wouldn't like to move there myself.

Hiya RedJ good to see you back. I would think that Shacks realises the 'balls up' that his agent carried out on his behalf by now. If you gave him the choice again ..............he would beg to be on our books.
Killgallon couldn't lace Shacks boots btw folks, why all this fuss about him ? Shacks V Killy = No contest, Shacks will would win in Round 1 .

Not the best available, but I reckon we could make him better. Look at what we did for Oster after a crap time he had at Palace.
*proceeds to sing the John Oster song*
Who do you reckon'd be better then?

Exactly. He wouldn't want to come here, really. And he's injury prone, so no.

If he is seen as Injury prone which Premiership side will take a chance on naming him in their 25 man squads, so i see little option for him but to drop a level. He may not come to KMS or Loftus Road, or any of the "Smaller" grounds, but he sure as hell will in all probability sign for a Championship club.

We aren't exactly doing horrible you know... We've just been really unlucky the last three games, threw it away against Burnley when 1-0 up at half time, 2-1 to Burnley.
Dissallowed goal VS Swansea, in the 88th minute and then Swansea go and score, 1-0 Swansea
Winning 2-0 away at Forest at half time, then in the second half the ref gives Forest a penalty which wasn't even a penalty as the foul was outside the box, should have been a free kick, Forest score and are then pumped up to go and work for another goal to rescue a point, they succeed due to our heads dropping after the penalty, Forest 2-2 Barnsley.
All three we could have won... We just need some luck. :/

Disagree - If Shackell had wanted to play for us he would have done a "Billy" and not gone to the team offering the most money
And I think Kilgallon's a far better player than you're giving him credit for, I think I've seen the majority of the televised Blades games over the past few seasons and he was one of their stand out players. OK its not worked out for him at Sunderland but that happens at times and he probably knew that things were going to go pear-shaped at Sheffield
Shackell is a quality defender but he was never ours and I think we move on now

I've not seen Killgallon play enough to say that , what i do know is that the Blades were desperate to keep hold of him and Sunderland were prepared to pay plenty to get him, the only teams interested in Shakell was us and Barnsley, he is a good player but is he better then Killgallon i don't know but would love to find out..

Anyone else think Healy's worth a punt? I know he'd be expensive, but with the new board member (worth £30 million) he could provide that competition up front we've not had for ages. I mean, Brooker's not exactly competition to Billy or Hayter.

I would love healy to sign , i'm just not sure he would be happy warming the bench, while ever Billy and Hayter are in such good form....but who would ever have guessed that we would be talking about loan players of Healys caliber as a bench warmer...shows how far we have progressed when it comes to scoring goals with our current strike force..happy days..

but he'd have to force his way into the side, same way any new signing does (obviously a centre half would probably slot straight in as we need them!)

Like i say...i think the Decision would have to be Healys , if he was happy to wait to get a game then briliant , some one at the ground asked him yesterday when he was going back and he said he didn't know with a smile on his face so who knows...

I think he likes it here, and he's a quality player. I'd love to get him signed up. I think he'd rather actually have a chance of forcing his way into our side than be stuck in Sunderland's reserves.

Re: Promotion
Healy would be a quality signing but realistically he will be 3rd choice behind Sharp and Hayter and as we saw at Leicester, playing all three doesn't work (though with a stronger defence and no Wellens playing against us it could be different)
I'd love to keep Healy because after Sharp and Hayter you then have to go on to Brooker and Fairhurst, now I like Waide but we need more experience and god knows about the mystery that is Brooker

Surely he must be injured again, hes not even on the bench now, a place that Waide has taken...for me i would cut our losses where he is concerned, if we do keep Healy then he has no chance of getting a game...

Brooker will never be the man we signed two years ago. His career's been wrecked by injury, and I think it's time we let him go. We need real back up for the strikers, and he's also a good impact player.
