Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

Just been on SSN that Mike Ashley has taken the club off the Market so it looks like he is staying, he has also announced he is making the naming rights for the ground available next year, Toon fans not very happy, but then again when are they.. Newcastle Utd Icon_smile

I don't know the ins and outs of the Mike Ashley saga, but I can definitely understand why they're not happy about the naming rights. I'd hate Hillsborough to be called something tacky like 'The Keepmoat Stadium', takes all the character out of your ground.

The thing is that is all the Keepmoat has ever been known as so in a few years time when they need a new sponsor people will still call it the keepmoat, bit like Belle Vue and the Earth Stadium.

On the subject of Newcastle, did anyone watch the game at half time on Monday night? Shay Given was in the studio and about 3 times he referenced Newcastle as "we" Laughing bet the Man City fans will be over the moon with that.

Love their grounds new name lol!!! I wouldn't be very happy either. I agree with you too Yorkie. Town's ground was always the McAlpine Stadium and it is still known as that even though it was renamed the Galpharm Stadium a few years ago. One the fans use a name it sticks even when the name changes.

I love how this sportsdirect.com@St. James' Park nonsense is being passed off as a "showcase for possible future investors". Quite blatantly, not an iota of interest was shown from anywhere. Laughing

For any buisness to get involved down at Newcastle with all the problems they are having would be madness.
