DRFC Full Carling Cup First Round draw details
Following the Football League`s announcement regarding this seasons Carling Cup draw this Thursday, we can now give you the up to date details.
For the first time in the competitions history, there will be a Preliminary round due to Championship side Birmingham City qualifying for Europe, after winning last seasons Carling Cup.
Last seasons two promoted sides from the Football conference, Crawley Town and AFC Wimbledon will meet in the Preliminary round at Crawley.
The first round will once again be split into Northern and Southern sections, with seeded and unseeded sides.
Doncaster Rovers are amongst the sides seeded in the Northern section and will be ball number 7.

to be honest, whoever we get, i just hope we manage a convincing win this year. given the shocking end to last season we're going into the next with virtually no forward/upward momentum, so lets hope we get a really good start this time around, even if it means banging rotherham at home

I know but we used to play them virtually every season before the early 90's . However bar the last 5 years they've usually outperformed us in the League............we've played them 85 times and they've won 43 of them to our 21.
Quite some catching up to do eh ? Trouble is we can't get them up to our level again to even things out...........how the mighty have fallen (in local terms that is).

I haven't got a problem with that draw especially due to the lack of home friendlies, as long as they aren't hatchet merchants like Acrrington were the other year
