Feyenoord at home
SYP have told the club to cancel the Feyenoord match because they are expecting disorder between English and Dutch Hooligans!! I know some Dutch clubs have a problem with the Hoolies but i really can't see them bringing any more loonies than leeds or Millwall do and they manage to police those matches ok!!
Hull City have also done the same.
Thats the best match of pre season gone now!

Re: Feyenoord at home
A couple of posts ive just read on another forum from a dutch lad
Not a few hundred but a few thousand Feyenoord fans wanted to take the boat to your country, probably between 3,000 and 6,000 fans. That may be the reason that your police had given a negative advice besides the financial costs for the clubs. I think they have had talks with a special police squad at Rotterdam concerning the Feyenoord fans.
It's a pitty that a part of the Feyenoord fans are sometimes a little bit violent. It gives my club a bad name. Pitty because Feyenoord has by far the most loyal fans of the Dutch division. Every team likes to play at our stadium De Kuip because of the atmosphere. There is a movie at youtube where you can watch how the fans are treating players like Ryo Myachi on loan from Arsenal last season.
At every stadium at the Dutch division you hear our fans singing the whole match while the fans of the opponent are most of the time just stupid silent. But now and then things goes out of control. Pitty for us those times make the headlines.
The problem might have been that it's summertime and only two years ago there was a rather big battle around this time at the beach of Hoek van Holland when yelling Rotterdam Hooligans saw guys from that special police squad among the people at a big house party with 10,000 visitors.
That police squad were so frightened because of those yelling Rotterdam Hooligans crowd that they shot and killed one guy which outraged the crowd so much that those police men had to run for their lifes.

Massive shame but it sounds like it's for the best judging by some of those comments.
