He was out pure and simple good though the Indiam Team letting him go back in now we owe them a favour but the laws of the game he was out should have waited for the Umpire

Re: Bells wicket
law: 23, 1, (b) "The ball shall be considered to be dead when it is clear to the bowler’s end umpire that the fielding side and both batsmen at the wicket have ceased to regard it as in play." The Indian fielder must of thought it was a boundary? and so did Bell (law 23, 1 "The ball is dead when a boundary is scored"
and bell must of thought it was dead anorl, that must mean the ball is 'considered' dead?

Re: Bells wicket
Got to take issue with your supposition LL
Quote ... I dint think it should of been given anyway cos the fielder made it look like a boundary
The fielder did not intentionally make it look like a boundary.
And your quote of a miniscule part of rule 23
My quote also small part
Law 23 (Dead ball)
1. Ball is dead
(a) The ball becomes dead when
(i) it is finally settled in the hands of the wicket-keeper or the bowler.
(ii) a boundary is scored. See Law 19.3 (Scoring a boundary).
Rule 19
3. Scoring a boundary
(a) A boundary shall be scored and signalled by the umpire at the bowler's end whenever, while the ball is in play, in his opinion
(i) the ball touches the boundary, or is grounded beyond the boundary.
(ii) a fielder, with some part of his person in contact with the ball, touches the boundary or has some part of his person grounded beyond the boundary.
None of rule 19 section 3 happened.
This is what I saw
The fielder made a superb attempt at stopping the ball from going over the boundary. In doing so he lost eye contact with the ball. The batsmen had already run 3 times and Bell started to jog down the pitch as the fielder threw the ball into the wicket keeper. Bell looked towards the boundary then stopped jogging and walked. The bails were then removed at the batsmans end.
Bell made a monumental mistake and was out.
The Indian team have been absolutely fantastic in letting Bell off the hook.
It is now 143-8 goodnight vienna

Re: Bells wicket
yeah dint mean to say he did it on purpose if he had that's even more twatish than what bell did, but they both thought it was a boundary so accordin to that rule that makes it dead?
aye your right that none of 19 happened but the Indian fielder and bell must of thought so surely that makes law 23 1 (b)
