On The Way Back..

Brilliant display, fantastic result.
Nice huge crowd there today, in full support. It's clear that we need a few more strikers, but all the way through the game Morrison and Madine were playing brilliant, linking up really well. If they had taken their chances we could have been 3-0 up at HT. Our Midfield was very strong, mainly Semedo and Prutton breaking everything down. Sedgwick is a completely different player to last year, and was a real threat down the right side, had a few efforts saved too. Liam Palmer got a start too, and for a youngster he performed really well, very professional. It's clear that Megson has the defence the way he wants it, they were outstanding. Rochdale never got a chance at goal, Jones and Batth stopping anything down the centre, and the wing backs were delightful to watch. Whenever he was needed, which was rarely, Weaver did some great saves, only being beaten from long distance which hit the post. Overall, we couldn't have done better.

The goals were clearly thanks to Megson's brilliant tactics. He said before the game that our set-pieces were going to be a surprise, and they were. I could only see our goals coming from Jones today, and Bennett's superb long throw found him perfectly, and a great header past the keeper. Real top quality, we will score loads from those.
The second goal, bloody hell. Corner whipped in, Jones's header cleared, and Prutton hits an outstanding left foot volley past the keeper. Honestly, watch it tonight on the Football League Show, best goal I've seen for a while at Hillsborough.

If we play like this all season, we're sure to be up there. Before the game I was worried that we wouldn't be attackive and I couldn't see us scoring, but seeing as we aren't going to concede, I am fully certain that we will be promoted.
