Diouf to stay..
EL Hadji Diouf has agreed to stay at Doncaster until the end of the season, the Free Press can reveal.
The 30-year-old forward is earning ten per cent of what he could be picking up elsewhere, according to Dean Saunders.
But Diouf, currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has agreed to remain at Rovers because he is enjoying it so much.
The Senegalese star is expected to pen a contract extension this week.
Saunders said: “Dioufy’s enjoying his football and the fans have been great with him.
“He feels very welcome here and he’s agreed to stay for the rest of the season.
“That’s great news for us.
“He’s a top player and he would get into most teams in the Premier League.
“He’s on ten per cent of what he was earning last season - and he’s on ten per cent of what he could be earning elsewhere.
“But what’s important to him is that he’s got a smile on his face here at Doncaster.”
Diouf was a surprise stand-in skipper against Watford but he has earned the respect of his colleagues since his arrival.
“After a few days here all the lads were saying they had a lot of negative views of me,” said Diouf earlier this week.
“They didn’t think they’d like me, that I’d be trouble.
“But they realised that isn’t me, I’m not like people say I am.
“I do not think I am better than them, I do not think I am something special here.
“I’m just a Doncaster player trying to do his best for the club like they are.
“I had other options, it was never about money,” he added.
“I had offers from the Middle East, from Russia, but they didn’t feel right.
“Willie McKay was very important.
“He has done a lot of things for me and when your friends ask for help, you help them. It wasn’t just him.
“When I met the gaffer [Dean Saunders] and the owners, I liked them and felt they were good people who want to do something exciting here.”

I'm really happy about Diouf, can't believe I am but he's not put a foot wrong since he signed and he's given everything.

Only when he gets the 'hump'. I know llamas don't have humps but camels do. Or were you referring to the Dalai Lama hence his good behaviour and his peace with the world ?
