Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

For the forthcoming season, which represents the Club's 125th year, after consultation with the Barnsley FC Supporters Trust, it has been decided to streamline our ticket pricing to make it clear and simple.

The category system is being dispensed with and a more accessible ticket discount scheme will be introduced which will give adult members £3 off and concession members (except under 12s) £1 off each match.

All matches for the 2012/13 season will be priced as follows:

Adult, non-member: £28
Adult, member: £25

OAP, non-member: £18
OAP, member: £17

Students (18-20), non-member: £18
Students (18-20), member: £17

Juveniles (12-17), non-member: £18
Juveniles (12-17), member: £17

Juveniles (5-11): £7

Membership to the new Oakwell 1887 scheme will cost £3 for Adults and £1 for Concessions. Joining will be a simple process and will not require a photograph and can be purchased through the box office.

As Barnsley Football Club will be celebrating its 125th year, there will be opportunities during the season to enjoy a reduced match ticket cost and this will be promoted during the course of the season once decided upon.

As always, a season ticket is the most cost-effective way to watch Barnsley at Oakwell for those going to the majority of home games with adult season tickets starting from only £335 (£14.56 per game).

To avail of the member reductions fans must join the Oakwell 1887 scheme and purchase match tickets at least 90 minutes before a match from the box office. Discounted tickets can also be purchased online.

Members of the Barnsley FC Supporters Trust will be eligible for these discounts and Season Ticket Holders will automatically become members and will be able to buy one additional ticket at the discounted rate.

Barnsley FC Supporters Trust are pleased to see that, following representation, the football club have decided to move away from the category system and adopt a simple, one-price strategy for the forthcoming season. A trust spokesman said, "With the simplified membership system, Barnsley supporters will be paying no more than £25 per ticket for fixtures at Oakwell this year. The membership scheme offers a superb saving for Barnsley supporters. Whilst we still recommend a season ticket or season ticket instalment plan as the best ways of supporting The Reds next season, the membership scheme offers substantial savings and we recommend it to those who prefer to attend on a match-by-match basis."

I still think £25/£28 for Crystal Palce or Peterboro at home on a cold Tuesday night is a bit dear. Excellent value though for all the derby matches next season. Don't forget though a season ticket works out at about £15 per game..... now thats a bargain!

Price is not bad though it is too expensive because for sure you can watch an exciting game with your favorite team. Well I guess, I will bet on euro with William Hill. Good luck to all football teams.
