In Boro we don't have many (if any) decent pubs now.
What about your town/city/Village?
In Boro i would say pub wise Issac Wilson (wetherspoons) or the Star are the only decent pubs for real ale.
Loads I like in York such as; the Blue Bell, Achorne and the Minster. Spoiled for choice in York

That one down near Conninsborough, really nice place, half of it is a massive pub, the other half is a resturant.

Somewhere with real ale will do me. An open fire and some friendly Yorkshire folk.
Not so easy to find a real 'local' these days.

most pubs are wank these days i would rather stay in
since when do we need to go to a pub for our dinner, if you want to feed the kids do it at home, or take them for a happy meal.
so i can go about getting pissed bump into things burp fart throw up and swear till my hearts content,
without up setting some dickhead whos too lazy to cook for her own fucking kids

Got to say it does piss me off going in Pubs with Kids screaming there heads off, it seems as though there is no vestige where we can get away from them, why people would want to take kids in pubs is beyond me, like you say take em to Burger King.

The Ridgeway Arms in Mosborough is a nice pub, also food is very cheap.
What's also good is they have a 'challenge 25' policy yet happily served a 17-year-old, as most places do which is nice.
