Re: Measles
Only watched it last night. Fantastic the way everyone rallied around to help out though.
Always enjoy this show for some reason.
Had measles when I was young and Shingles in the 90's.
Not pleasant.

Re: Measles
I had Measles when young, German Measles as well. Awful disease, my sister nearly died from Diptheria when she was young. I cannot understand parents who whinge on about not having vaccinations against various diseases, the scare stories put about by bad Science and the squeemish way that folks are about injections will let it make a come back in this country. It is happening already.

Re: Measles
I had a great uncle left profoundly deaf becasue he caught measles as a child.
Thing was that he clearly had some residual hearing. He lived with his brother and the brother's wife. She had a habit of talking about him quite critically as though he were not there and he had a habit of turning his hearing aid off - so he couldn't hear her could he!!!???
We were visiting one day and she began her usual moaning. I looked over at my uncle, feeling a bit sorry for him. My mum looked over too. There was a very slow, deliberate wink in our direction!!!! We had a terrible time trying not to laugh out loud.

Re: Measles
Was talking to my phlebotanist today about child hood jabs, she said she had one family who refused all the child hood jabs as the mother didn't want chemicals in her kids bodies, but that didn't stop her from getting their holiday jabs.. crazy isn't it.
I had measles and bronchitis when I was 16, my doctor came in three times, so I guess I was pretty ill, it left me with very sensative eyes, I'm like a mole in bright sunlight, and I dont mean small and furry...lol
