Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

Correct me if I am wrong, but a club who takes a player on loan becomes responsible for that players salary ?

If this is the case why in hell would any player consider going to a club such as Pompey, knowing that there is a strong possibility that they are not going to be paid in a timely manner, I'm sure some have expenses such as kids and mortgages to be paid ?

In cases whereby the player is coming from a European club, surely you got to take into account that Pompey can't even afford the currency conversion at the bank !

I keep reading about Pompey looking to take players on loan and it just baffles me that the FA would allow this to happen, taking into consideration their financial predicament.

Maybe we should get a petition together and forward to the FA to stop this from happening ? scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch

It depends on what the teams agree on. On football manager you can choose to pay so much of the player wages, and seing as that is a realistic football simulation then i am guessing it applies to real life too.

They not only keep him match fit but provide all the background amenities (i.e physiotherapists, sports psychologists, Nutritionists) etc. to keep a player at his peak . While he is with us OUR people work on and with him to keep him at his very best both mentally and physically not the Blades lot. It's a bit like stabling and training somebody's thoroughbred horse. It costs.
