The Yorkshire Football Forums
Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

When you consider how much is owed to the taxman by other clubs in the news recently, for example Pmpeii, it seems almost like they are the 'scapegoat'. Make an example of them and either pay up or be wound up.

Who will be next?

I bet Man Utds Bar bill comes to more then Chester owed, there really is something wrong in football, but i think it will take someone bigger then Pompey to get in the shit before people wake up to what is happening No

Exactly, any player in Man Utd's first team squad could've solved Chester's problems by rummaging around in their pockets for change. It's just wrong.

On the upside, it seems the bulk of the support are glad it's over, they've already submitted their application for a license to start the club up again next season to the FA. All the best to them.

When these things happen & a small club dies; eg; Chester City, Halifax Town, Frickley Athletic etc ( & i'm sure more to come), the wider professional football community should really hang their heads in shame.
I don't think a small levy each season from every premiership/ championship club should be out of the question to stop these clubs dying, after all, these are clubs that are at the heart of their respective communities. I feel sorry for the fans of these clubs, i'd be devastated.

O! Missed that typo!! Pompeii I meant.

Depends if the powers that be bite instead of just growl and bark I suppose. They seem to be frightened to do anything to a 'big' club - just beat the little guy - a bit like life really isn't it???!!!
