Released Players
Now that the season is concluded i would guess we will find out quite soon which players will be leaving us, i guess we all have an rough idea who some will be, players like Heffs , Guy, Spicer there may be a surprise or two but it should give us a rough idea what the clubs hopes are for the new season and if we really are serious about giving it a go next season to reach the premiership, should be an interesting few days ahead.

A £90 million quest , we have to ''step up'' our activities and NOW speculate to accumulate if we are ever to succeed . Players . like those above, are not evidently useful to achieve this mission.
Next season is not for the faint hearted, the quality players we already have at our disposal + any others we can add have now the opportunity to emulate Blackpool and ''push on''........are we brave enough to push for it at Board level ? I certainly hope so.
This may possibly be the last chance we ever get to achieve Prem. status under the new deals being offered to the relegated Prem. clubs, Newcastle proved that with their runaway success and a team worth a ''King's ransom''.

Agree with all of that, no time to be sentimental, offload the ones that are surplus to requirements and lets go for it,we may never have a better chance..

It's the 'last chance saloon' Bri and we can secure our future and buy out our premises for years to come. More importantly we can repay those that invested time and money in our club.

Re: Released Players
Gateshead are monitoring the availability of Rovers goalkeeper Ben Smith, who has been released at the end of his Doncaster contract. Smith is the son of former Gateshead keeper Simon Smith and, with Gateshead set to go full-time this season, the move to the Blue Square North club could progress in the coming weeks. Gateshead are likely to make a number of changes to their squad, with a number of players unwilling to change from part-time status for next season. Gateshead only narrowly avoided relegation last season, which led to manager Ian Bogie releasing a number of players, including former Rovers defender Chris Swailes.
