According to either Times or Telegraph Cole was asking for a £30,000 a week pay rise as he's only on £80,000

My heart bleeds, no wonder the game is going to the wall. He simply wants a £1.5 million a year rise ....................not alot to ask for when you're already on in excess of £4,000,000 p.a.

Well you know what they say - if you don't ask, you don't get
Looks like he asked and didn't get
Paper mentioned him going to Spurs but said they don't pay more than £100,000 a week for a player They must be the Rovers of the Prem
Seriously its unreal

Re: Chelsea Players
the thing that pisses me off is why the fook should they get so rich just because they can kick a ball, the same goes for singers and movie stars, they kick up a stink about illegal downloads, but if a song was a penny to download then i'd fooking pay it, they'd still earn a living off the fooker, why the fook should they get mega rich while we scrape our fooking pennies together just so we can afford to go watch 40+ games a season, it should be a quid to get in, bring back the terraces and tell the fooking players, bollox your only getting 400 a week, if you don't like it, try the dole for a month, 400 a week is still a fooking lot , especially if you're David fooking Beckham and thick as pigshite!

Everything he said was spot on, for me it should be the forces and surgeons who make that kind of dosh, maybe if these w-anchors took a 'real' wage then football would be affordable to everyone again, to call football the peoples game is is ridiciolous now

Don't get me wrong..............I agree entirely as you will have seen from my recent posts on wages.
The game is ''eating'' itself away and will die if these greedy twats aren't sorted out. What happens in the Prem. trickles down the system and causes all our clubs headaches as we haven't got the sky money to offset the mayhem these players and their agents are causing.

Re: Chelsea Players
If the non league games were packed out i'd fucking go to watch them instead of the overpriced Boro when i was home mate, cos to tell the truth i go to the games for
#1 the atmosphere (although it's kinda lacking since the end of terraces)
#2 the crack with the lads
#3 good excuse for a booze up
#4 a good sing
#5 to watch my team play their hearts out, win lose or draw.
now i do my part of the bargain #1-4 every time i go to the game
#5 is generally hit and fucking miss, whereas at non league games these lads care about their teams and are on 10-50 quid a game...........
makes you frikken wonder!

That's what those United FC fans do and by all accounts are loving the game again . The sterility has gone for them and they are back to basics.
I know a couple of Mancs that were STH's for years at OT and they have ''chucked' that all away quite happily. No big cups for them and they get all #1-5.

Again football could learn from rugby league with a simple salary cap

Unfortunately the Premiership clubs (who hold all the cards) would never be able to get together on this matter. They would far sooner all jump over the cliff like lemmings into the abyss of bankruptsy and administration.
They have made a rod for all our backs, in what other industry would the employees run the show completely ?

Wouldn't you be better adding some input into what is a serious discussion on the future of our game and more importantly the future of OUR clubs than making daft remarks ?
I would be more interested to hear your ''take'' on the future of the game.
