Escaped the Job Shop
Start new private sector job on monday so should have been last day at Job Shop today but some doyle deleted me from system last night so ended up at work for 10 mins this morning to clear desk and be escorted from the floor.
Get paid for the day sitting at home.
Going to write a book sometime about a year in a job centre contact centre. Funny calls and stupid excuses people give for missing appointments.

Hope everything goes well its always nervous starting a new job but the last time i did that was 20 years ago, agree on the book i'm surprised they have never made a comedy programme based around a job center would be a right laugh..

Re: Escaped the Job Shop
bloody hell I remember that.
Couple of snippets.
A lad last week was wanting to back date his reclaim for 4 weeks, so asked him why he hadnt contacted us before now.
He said he had been too busy, his dog had pups and he had to help her look after them. Then he asked if he could claim for them as dependents. Was dying to ask if he had done his dog.
Had to do an early morning call back to an 18 year old lass. Rang her about half eight, her dad answered and shouted her to pick up on th extension. The las came on and started answering my questions, she then sai could I hold while she got a towel and some clothes as she was dripping bathwater over the floor. coudnt concentrate after that, shouted over to the lads on next desks that she was in the buff, all wanted to listen in.
Another day a bloke rang up to do his claim and was actually having a piss while talking on the phone then flushed the bog.
