I knew there was a reason I don't like chimps..
I remember the reports of the poor woman savaged by a 'pet' chimp in the States a few months ago...
God allmighty, I think if it had been me I would rather have died in the attack.. she was such an attractive lady..

There's a reason 'wild' animals are so named. Chimps should not be domesticated for exactly this reason.
Very sad for this woman.

Jeez how did I miss this post ? That's horrific it seems that these idiotic pet owners don't realise the strength of all of these apes especially the chimpanzee. They are not 'toys' anymore than a pit bull terrier is .......even less so!

A fully grown chimp can weigh in at over 11 stone,
Common Chimpanzees have been known to attack humans on occasion. There have been many attacks in Uganda by chimpanzees against human children; the results are sometimes fatal for the children. Some of these attacks are presumed to be due to chimpanzees being intoxicated (from alcohol obtained from rural brewing operations) and mistaking human children for the Western Red Colobus, one of their favourite meals. The dangers of careless human interactions with chimpanzees are only aggravated by the fact that many chimpanzees perceive humans as potential rivals With up to five times the upper body strength of a human, an angered chimpanzee could easily overpower and potentially kill a fully grown man, as shown by the attack and near death of former NASCAR driver St. James Davis ..There are at least 6 documented cases of chimpanzees snatching and eating human babies..
makes frightening reading doesn't it?
I have always been monkey phobic, due to an unfortunate toy monkey incident as a two year old that I can still remember even after all these years..lol..

haha, no it was far far worse.....
there I was , a sweet innocent little moppet all ringlets eyes and dimples... happily playing on the floor when up from behind the sofa popped the biggest ugliest monkey I have ever seen..... I screamed the house down, and dad hot footed it back to the toy shop to exchange it for a nice cuddly teddy bear.....
The mental scars never fade I tell ya.....

Horrible story and explains alot. I am frightened to death of clowns real and doll-type things in the same way. I hate them and I hate seeing them even on the tele . freaks me out completely.
