Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Confirmed on official site:

Barnsley Football Club have completed the signing of forward Kelvin Etuhu on a free transfer.

The former Manchester City man becomes Keith Hill's first signing of the summer as the Barnsley boss rebuilds his squad for the club's 2012/13 Championship campaign.

The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Oakwell with Keith Hill finally getting the man he tried to sign last summer.

Speaking exclusively to barnsleyfc.co.uk, Reds Manager Keith Hill said, "We're glad we've managed to secure the signing of Kelvin. We're exciting by the prospect of working with him. We're really pleased and he represents good value for money and I'm just glad he chose us. It's exciting because he can play in a number of positions - anywhere across the front line. He's got pace and ability and he will excite the adoring public."

Born in Nigerian, Kelvin progressed through the Manchester City Academy and is the younger brother of Fulham midfielder Dickson.

Probably, if Kelvin turns out to be a good player for us we need to nail him down at some point with an extension on his contract, it's the only way we will keep him for at least two or three years.....

Do you lot realise we're Barnsley?? Players only want to get themselfs in the shop window and won't sign for us on nothing more than a 1 year deal incase (god forbid) they have to actually have stay with us. This is the way things are now a days get used to it. At least Jimbo has signed on for 2 years!!
Unless your in with a shot of promotion or got shit loads of money for wages your not getting long term deals from players with potential!
