Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

Goalkeeper pens two-year Reds deal

Keith Hill has bolstered his goalkeeping options by snapping up goalkeeper Ben Alnwick on a free transfer, subject to clearance from the relevant footballing bodies.

A regular with England at many youth levels, the now-25-year-old has penned a two-year deal at Oakwell and looks set to compete with Supporters’ Player of the year, Luke Steele, for the number one jersey.

Speaking to barnselyfc.co.uk, Ben said: “I’m happy to be here. I’m out of contract so I’ve been looking for a club and it’s great to come here. I’m going to try and compete with Steeley (Luke Steele) who is a top ‘keeper.”

“It’ll be good for both of us - pushing each other every day.”

Ben started his career with Sunderland as a trainee before making a move to Spurs in January 2007 for a handsome six-figure fee. Since which he has made appearances on loan at the likes of Leicester City, Norwich and more recently Leyton Orient last season.

Don't really know much about this lad, surely he can't be a worse keeper than Preece though lol!!! Steele needs a bit of competition to keep him on his toes!
