The Yorkshire Football Forums
Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

Sheffield United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny could see his nine month ban reduced on appeal.

The Blades goalkeeper was handed the lengthy ban on Monday after failing a sample in May for the banned substance ephidrene, which he claims to have only taken as part of a cough medicine.

The verdict took into account that it wasn't taken with the intention of enhancing performance but still gave him a complete football ban, which doesn't allow him to train with a team.

It appears now however, that United are set to have the suspension shortened.

In my eyes he deserves it as he should know better,he has everything he could dream of and he turns to drugs.
I really dont think he is wired up right.
I see the utd forum is very quiet.

The punishment was probably harsh, but like you say he must be a bit gormless to go taking any medication without first checking if it was ok to take, i'm pretty sure that any sports people are made fully aware of the risks that they face if not sticking to what must be very strict guidelines, he only has himself to blame and has paid the price for his stupidity. Yes maybe a little harsh but surely he knew the risks of taking drugs.
Let this be a warning to other football stars.
I do not understand why famous people with bags of cash turn to drugs.

Miachel Jackson
Paddy Kenny
Elvis Presley.

It just shows how stupid some can be.

I think to say that he was taking Drugs is a bit Ott, he took some Cough Mixture or something like a Lemsip which he bought from the Chemists, the problem was that it had a banned substance in it like many do, his real problem is that he is Thick as a plank, but you can't legislate against stupidity, he has paid the price for his foolish act, what do you think by the time his ban is over could he be a Sully replacement....
