favourite days out
Where are your favourite places for days out; not sports related?
For me, it's got to be York with it's selection of Real ale pubs.
Easy and cheap to get to by rail and excellent day out
wouldn't mind a trip before chrimbo

Unfortunately I would have to say Leeds, just because I love having all the shops to go round!!! It was better before though when the Corn Exchange was still full of rock and metal shops!! I could spend a whole day just in there. If I had to pick a second though York would definitely be it.

I agree with you Terrier. Shopping in Leeds is fantastic. I spent a couple of days (and a fortune I don't have) buying loads of clothes that don't fit. Good times.
Never been to York. I will have to at some point though.

I'm the same Wednesday. I never have any money left after a trip to Leeds even if I don't need anything. I'm not to bad in York but that's getting to be the same. You don't know what you're missing out on there Wednesday, you need to get yourself a day trip to York organised. I love it there.

Like York, Durham, Whitby.
Richmond on a nice hot summers day is good, sitting around the river bank with fish and chips and a spot of fishing.

Fish and chips is always a good meal on a day out. I'm funny about it though so don't have it very often.

I've never been to either of them. I once went to Liverpool for a transition day thing with my sixth form but I spent all day in a blooming art gallery because I didn't want to be on my own and all my friends were going there.

Re: favourite days out
If you go to Newcastle then have a pop to South Shields. Decent beach, plenty of pubs and chippies. Fun fair and boating lakes .Mix of mags and mackems shirts as you wander about.
Just jump on the metro from Newcastle. ways eaither direct to South Shields or down to North Shields and get the ferry over the tyne.
North Shield fish quay is good for an hour or so. Prawn capital of the UK and you can buy a big bag for a quid.
