Small Rovers competition: Who has turned down a chance to come to Rovers and regretted it?

1. Tristram Whitman, didn't sign his contract to come with us into Div.3 went nowhere.
2. Sam Vokes, went to leeds, blew his chance and gone back to Wolves reserves (are you listening Shackell?)
3. Theo Streete, thought he could do better than Rovers, now playing about 7divisions below us.
4. Adebayo Akinfenwa, playing for Northampton and looks even fatter than he used to!
5. John Melligan, good winger for DP, but didn't want to come permanently, now at Orient in the doldrums.
Any more?

Bit like Tarkan Mustafa,
Never did forgive him for scoring that goal at the Brittannia, although I must admit I knew he was going to score as soon as he got the damn ball Evil or Very Mad

Rovers never do it easily though do they? Pens against Chester, the golden goal, those pens against Derby, coming back from 3-1 down against Crewe, extra time in the JPT, the only time we did it right was against Weeds! Very Happy

The game against Forest, I will never forget the atmosphere that night ; excitement tinged with the sinking feeling that the shithole I had loved all those years was just like a ship going to the breakers yard.
It's was great to beat the Florists though, shame about Theo though........he quite simply cocked up bigtime!! lol!

A 3-3 Draw, it was a cup match so they have to go play again at Rangers.

He played well, subbed in the 88th minuite , but gave away a penalty for handball although he was on the floor at the time and the Rangers player clearly kicked the ball into him so was very very harsh and deffo ball to hand.

Sounds like Stuart Elliott and Hamilton got ripped off. Hope he scores in the replay though. Sad

Ah but Rangers are a bigger team and refs just look for an opportunity to assist them perhaps not wittingly but certainly unwittingly. Wink
