Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

As good as that is for people that don't have ESPN like myself, does it perhaps suggest that they're struggling to balance the books? I hope we don't have another Setanta situation on our hands.

No, I hear you, I'm just thinking out loud. It still surprises me that they're giving away a weekend though, I remember Setanta doing something similar prior to their demise.

Yeah, you're right there, firmly established in the US. Shouldn't be an issue really, I'm probably just paranoid with all these clubs declaring financial difficulties at the moment. It wouldn't surprise me if some major shit hit the fan sometime soon in the top flight.

I think that's a good idea but not sure whether their plan will work. I'm presuming they've done this in an attempt to get more people to join them.

I would assume so. I reckon they'll be having problems trying to get people to subscribe like Setanta did, but the difference is, as Nightmare pointed out, they're a well established network in the States, and won't be risking their entire enterprise on British people subscribing for the English Premier League.

That's very true. I'm sure they are doing a good job, just not sure they will get more people to join. I hope they do succeed over here though, good luck to them.

It replaced Setanta when they went bust, very popular in the states and parts of europe, think Sky sports have too much of a strangle hold for them to make much of an impact here..
