Wolves striker Andy Keogh could be on the brink of a £1m move back to the Championship with Barnsley, writes TIM NASH.
Reports in south Yorkshire suggest the 24-year-old was shown around Oakwell last weekend, just days after Wolves boss Mick McCarthy said the player may prefer to move in search of regular football.
It is understood McCarthy needs to move on two strikers this summer in addition to the £500,000 sale of Chris Iwelumo to Burnley to offset the arrival of £6.5m Steven Fletcher.
And the seven-figure sale of Keogh along with probably Stefan Maierhofer would balance the books.
Keogh would relish the double prospect of regular football and a return to Yorkshire, although it is believed the Ireland international would have been tempted by a second stint at Leeds after their promotion back to the Championship.
The forward started his career at Elland Road before joining Scnuthorpe, from where he signed for Wolves in January 2007 in a move that eventually netted the Iron £800,000.
Keogh had the distinction of scoring Wolves’ first Premier League awayday winner at Wigan last August.
But it was a rare personal highlight and his only goal in a campaign blighted by an ankle injury.

Andy Keogh and THE BEAST as a strike partnership? Why not?
I've talked to John Parkin in person on a few occasions!
Wouldn't mind signing him up!
Despite his weight he's able to find the net.. And surely he can't be slower than Macken? Nobody can.
And even if he has a problem with scoring, he could play an 'Emile Heskey' type role, and feed Keogh with chances on goal.

So have i and hes not that fat what so ever! well, the last time i saw him in Wetherspoons he wasnt. Would be a quality signing, seen him score some 'powerful' looking goals for preston.
BRING THE BEAST HOME!!!!
