The Yorkshire Football Forums
Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

Personally i feel sorry for those supporters who have supported that club from the 70/80's that weren't 'glory hunters' then or even now that have to put up with all this shite and feel quite rightfully disenfranchised from their club.
These supporters are no different from any others, why the attitude re. them and their club or is just fashionable ?
I lived in the area for many years and NEVER found them any different from our own. Now City supporters..........well they do whinge believe me.
As for them being 'Gloryhunters' , historically they were never the biggest club in terms of silverware in the North -West and there was a huge gap in years between them winning the League in 66/67 upto the date that Fergie (close to dismissal) managed it again.
Did they all disappear ? Of course not they still had the biggest crowds in the country and were in wealth terms one of the poorer of the 'big' teams of that era. The reason for their popularity nationsally was not the Munich effect' but the quality of their play.
frankly i just don't get this irrational 'we must hate a specific club and their fans' mentality.......what am I missing here ?

Personally, i don't have a problem with supporters of any club that go to games, its the ones who don't go but have an opinion on everything that do my head in, i work with em, they can tell me everything about a Blades games despite not going or even listening to it... Razz
