npower League 2
Wycombe Wanderers 1 (Betsy 82)
Bradford City 0
Kick Off: 3.00pm
at Adams Park

Attendance: 4077

Ten man Bantams were left with nothing to show from a battling display after Kevin Betsy's late goal sent them crashing to an agonising defeat.

Despite Tommy Doherty's second half sending off, the Bantams looked set for a share of the spoils until Betsy broke City's heart with Wycombe's late match-winner.

Peter Taylor's side were left enraged by the goal though as play appeared to have been halted moments before Betsy struck.

As City responded to the linesman flagging for a foul, Referee Mr Russell waved play on, allowing Matt Bloomfield to tee up Betsy from close range.

Taylor's men almost snatched an equaliser right at the end, but Wycombe keeper Nikki Bull superbly kept out a fizzing effort from Tom Adeyemi.

City had played their part in an entertaining first period, but they were forced into their shells after Doherty was given his marching orders following an altercation with Gareth Ainsworth.

The Bantams defended were discipline and spirit and looked set to grab a deserved point until Betsy's late invertention.

FT: Wycombe Wanderers 1 Bradford City 0

Wycombe are doing a good job of keeping the ball away from their own goal, City's battling efforts look like they are going to be in vain this afternoon.

90min: Four minutes will be added on at the end of the match.

90min: Adeyemi goes oh so close to grabbing City an equaliser! The midfielder bursts into the box before unleashing a fizzing drive which is heading for the top corner until Bull flings out an arm to palm the effort away.

89min: Rendall is itches away from flicking the ball goalwards at the near post, but Pidgeley manages to smother the ball eventually.

Oliver has now gone into attack.

City's chances of getting anything from the match look sadly remote at present as the home side continue to keep hold of the ball for long periods.

83min: City players are enraged by the decision to allow the goal as Rehman and Pidgeley protest wildly to the referee. City can alter nothing now and Rehman is booked for his protests.

82min: GOAL - Wycombe Wanderers 1 Bradford City 0 - Disaster for City as Wycombe take the lead. City appear to stop as the linesman flags for a foul, but referee Russell allows Wycombe to play on though and Bloomfield is suddenly in on goal. The Wycombe man tries to take the ball around Pidgeley but is tripped by the keeper. Mr Russell once again plays the advantage and Betsy is on hand to tap home into an unguarded net.

79min: Beavon is allowed far too much space on the edge of City's penalty area, but thankfully for City, he only uses it to fire over.

Wycombe are pushing hard for an opening goal with City having to defend hard and look to break out on the counter-attack when possible.

74min: SUB - Wycombe bring on Scott Rendall for Strevens

City will now line up with Price in attack on his own and Evans and Osborne under instruction to bomb forward from wide position's when possible.

70min: SUBS - A double sub for City as Gareth Evans and Leon Osborne replace Daley and Hendrie.

67min: YELLOW CARD - Winfield is booked a late tackle on Daley.

65min: Montrose fires wide from distance.

64min: City are now under the cosh as the home side look to make their one man advantage count. Daley manages to lead a counter-attack but his shot from just outside the area flies wide.

62min: RED CARD - Massive blow for City as Doherty is given a straight red card following an altercation with Ainsworth.

60min: City are nearly caught out when Bloomfield finds Strevens in space behind the Bantams backline. The recovering Rehman is on hand to get back and stop the striker getting a shot away as the ball rolls through to Pidgeley.

59min: Adeyemi is felled by a tackle from Sandell as the Bantams break out. After a period of treatment though, the on-loan midfielder is fine to play on.

Wycombe have started the second half slightly on top, but it's all very cagey at present.

46min: Wycombe kick off the second period.

Both sides remain unchanged as Wycombe return to eleven players on the pitch after Winfield's spell off the pitch for stitches.

HT: Wycombe Wanderers 0 Bradford City 0 - Somehow an entertaining first period at Adams Park ends with neither team scoring. Both Wycombe and City have had chances to break the deadlock during an even opening half. The scorers remain untroubled at the moment though, but that will probably change in the second period.

45min: 3 minutes of injury time will be added on at the end of this half.

43min: YELLOW CARD - City put the home side under some intense pressure by forcing five corners in a row. The amazing sequence is ended when Syers and Winfield go flying into a challenge together and clash heads.

After a break in play so both players can receive treatment, Syers is booked for his perceived dangerous action towards Winfield when the pair clashed.

Wycombe are reduced to ten men for the time being as a result as Winfield is forced to leave the field to receive stitches for his head wound.

40min: Price gets an opportunity to strike for goal after Sandell's attempted clearance rebound back of his own team-mate Westwood and into his path. Price does indeed strike for goal, but his effort is blocked away. Price is convinced it came off a Wycombe hand, but no penalty is given.

37min: Strevens appears to get behind the Bantams defence for a moment after latching himself onto a looped through ball. Kiernan does well to recover though and force the striker into shooting wide.

34min: Hendrie's effort from the resulting free-kick is fumbled by Bull, but the home shot-stopper is able to gather up the ball at the second attempt before a charging City player can capitalise on the spill.

32min: YELLOW CARD - Montrose is booked for a late tackle on Daley around 20 yards from goal. The Jamaican is hurt by the challenge and requires treatment from City physio Damian Buck.

32min: A slick attacking move from the Chairboys ends with Pidgeley diving to his left to hold onto Matt Bloomfield's side-footed effort from just outside the penalty area.

25min: Wycombe are the next to enjoy a good opportunity to open the scoring as Beavon powers a header towards the far corner following Ainsworth cross. The ball looks to be just creeping in, but Pidgeley dives full length to tip the effort around the post.

21min: City miss out on a chance to opening the scoring as Adeyemi plays Price into space behind the Wycombe defence. The striker is many yards from goal though and doesn't have the pace to out sprint the recovering home defenders.

Realising he can't go it alone, Price manages to pick out Daley in space only yards from goal inside the area. The Jamaican tries to slot the ball past the on-rushing Bull, but a combination of the Wycombe keeper and Chris Westwood prevent him from doing so.

17min: Wycombe think smart and take a short corner quickly to surprise the Bantams. The attack ends though with veteran Gareth Ainsworth firing well wide with an ambitious volley from outside the area.

15min: Pidgeley seems to be caught out by the flight of Andy Sandell's cross from Wycombe's left, but Oliver is on hand to save the situation by heading away from in front of his own goal.

9min: It's almost a carbon copy for City as Daley involves again. Once more, the Bantams forward has a open pitch ahead of him to run into as he drives into Wycombe's penalty area from a wide position. Daley strikes for goal, but again his angled effort whistles just wide of the far post.

8min: City break with pace as Daley gallops into space on Wycombe's left. The Jamaican continues to race into home territory before unleashing a drive across goal which just invades David Syers dive at the far post.

7min: Wycombe have clearly been ordered to shoot on sight as Kevin Betsy is the next to try his hand. This time an effort from the home side is wayward though and Pidgeley can watch it behind.

6min: Lewis Montrose is the next Wycombe player to strike for goal as the home side enjoy a good start to the fixture. Pidgeley once again struggles to hold the inital shot, but he is on hand to gather up the rebound safely.

4min: Ben Strevens effort moments after Beavon's strike is harder for Pidgeley to deal with, but the Bantams keeper manages to gobble up the ball at the second attempt.

3min: After cutting in from a wide position, Stuart Beavon fires straight at Lenny Pidgeley from just outside the area.

The Bantams have lined up in a 4-4-2 formation with Jason Price and Daley partnered together in attack. New loan signing Rob Kiernan has joined Oliver in central defence while Tom Adeyemi starts on the right of midfield.

1min: Barely thirty seconds are on the clock when City enjoy the first opening of the match. Omar Daley latches himself onto Lee Hendrie's clever pass and races for goal but his angled drive from just inside the area is tipped away by Nikki Bull.

Luke Oliver heads onto the roof of the net from the resulting corner.

0min: City kick off.
