Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

On the up: Mark Robins has steered Barnsley into the top half of the Championship table

BARNSLEY owner Patrick Cryne is very happy with the progress the Reds are making under boss Mark Robins.
Robins replaced Simon Davey at the Oakwell helm in September 2009 and, having been in charge for just over a year, has re-shaped the first team squad and got them challenging for a top-half finish this season.

The Reds are 12th in the Championship table having picked up ten points from a possible 12 from their last four league matches and, if they can continue their rich vein of form, there's every chance they could easily sneak into the Play-offs places which are within three points of their grasp.

"We're doing fairly well at the moment, we're still in touch with the top six and have found some consistency," Cryne told The Star.

"We've got a relatively settled team right now and I think that's helping us.

"Mark has got the team playing well. He's got Adam Hammill playing well and we've got Garry O'Connor who is proving to be real threat up front for us. There's obvious confidence there from the way we're playing, which is great to see.

"In Adam we've got one of the best midfielders in the league. In Jason Shackell we've got one of the best defenders in the league.

"But not only those two players because we've got a lot of steady starlets like Bobby Hassell and Stephen Foster.

"We're in a much better situation now than in previous years when we were worrying about languishing at the wrong end of the division.

"And now we've got two Yorkshire derbies to look forward to over the next couple of weeks, which is great for the club and our supporters.

"I'm really looking forward to the Doncaster game. They're good friends of ours I've got a lot of respect for what John (Ryan] and Sean O'Driscoll have achieved there."

So he should be , he obviously had a lot more faith in MR than you did!!
I did say from the start that he would come good for you and I'm pleased he has, he just needed some time to assess and get a squad together.
Please don't take it that I have a soft touch for your team , come the time when we do get to play you..........I want us to rip your team apart. Razz
