Re: Rumours
Last Thursday's Yorkshire Post was reporting that experienced defender Richard Naylor, who was released by Leeds United this summer, could be heading to Doncaster Rovers for next season. It has been well documented that Rovers are wanting to strengthen their defensive line-up which saw them leak 81 goals last season and, with Wayne Thomas, Byron Webster and Matthew Kilgallon having left the club (in Kilgallon's case at the end of his loan spell), further defensive players are needed.

Not sure about Naylor myself. He is 34 and may now be on the inevitable slide down footballing pole - especially when you consider that we have just released Wayne Thomas, who is two years younger than Naylor. Although I realise that age isn't the only factor in the equation, I would personally like to see us looking at younger blood - another fading talent to 'fill a gap' is not what we need IMO.

I couldn't agree more with the idea of bringing in and developing young players, however after last season's leaking bucket of a defense can we afford the risk ?

I noticed he played for Rovers u18s against Scunthorpe in their last game of the season, the report says he scored and they mention he did a tricky run past 3 players only to miss with his shot.Though I Would think Naylor or a more prominent player would be more likely to be the 3rd player named after Spurr n Bennett(Thats if its true about 3 players signings to be announced next week). Not what is Basically a good prospect from a youth team.

I know your a good source Vicar,I keep track on here,Im not grumbling, just was'nt sure whether he would be considered the third.Hopefully he will be a good addition and like the thought of getting Bennett and keeping Copps in the squad,it may be a sign of having more quality in depth with our squad. All we need now is to get Joe Mills aswell has Spurr and Murphy aswell has keeping Woods etc and keep doubling up like that and get some back from injury, and we will be well away.

Bloody hell was told about him weeks ago at a TADRA meeting, but I thought he was a midfielder ? Also wasn't sure he'd count as a first team signing as he's one of the Leeds 2nd year Academy lads
Have to believe our Thorne sources a bit more now

Sources in Thorne doing OK Tbh I'd forgotten all about Baxendale as it was end of last season when I got told about him, I assumed he'd already signed.
So is he a striker or a midfielder?
