Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

I wished I was as positive as you , imo BOTH teams will struggle bar any decent last minute signings. However I don't see either club being relegated quite yet. Laughing

I agree with you Hoola, football is going mad with the prices being paid at the moment, even the bigger teams in the championship are forking out millions and teams like us and you can't compete with that!!

At the end of the day people need to realise we are punching above our weight and staying in the championship is actually a good end to the season. We just don't have the money and we won't attract a rich buyer cos theres bigger clubs out there with bigger fan bases to buy.
I don't like to admit it but thats the real truth.

We are being priced out of the championship and people need to get used to it.

NR that's as good a summary of the position both clubs unfortunately find themselves in as I have read anywhere on any forum.
Some of those clubs you are referring to are or will implode in the near future, the times are a changing and we just have to do the best with the resources we have and keep getting off the canvas at the count of 9.
Our time will come as the Inland Revenue and other bodies start to 'firm' up on those clubs who are living way beyond their means.......Leicester, Forest Cardiff and Pompey are prime examples of some of those clubs. Mad
