World Cup 2010
With 273 days to go to the World Cup 2010, it's time for a topic about it.
Anybody going, or going to try to go?
How do you think we'll do?
We've shown we can get the result against the lesser teams (Belarus, Ukraine), and have comfortably beaten the team ranked 9th in the world Croatia twice.
We've even done well against the better teams, Holland and Germany.
It's looking very good at the moment. Let's get carried away, we're going to win the World Cup!!!

There was a couple of pensioners on the news the other day who had cashed in their pension plans to pay to go over to South Africa, they said they were expecting the whole trip to cost them 20K. hope they get a safari chucked in for that....

Re: World Cup 2010
I think we have done well but to be honest i can see us getting cheated out of the cup in then semi-finals.
I would love to win it but what are the odds. lol
I suppose it depends who we draw.

Worst case scenario:
England
USA
Cameroon
Portugal
Pretty good worst case scenario IMO.
Was quite worried this morning. I saw the misread the breaking news on SSN and thought we'd been drawn in the same group as Spain, Brazil etc.

World Cup Travel Forum - 10th December
Hi to all of you who are thinking of going out to South Africa for the World Cup next year. Yorkshire England Supporters (YES) have put together a forum next week at Hillsborough Stadium, 10th December with a 7pm start. The invited guests will be able to answer questions and sort out any travel bookings you may need. The invited guests are;
Kevin Miles - International co-ordinator for the FSF
Kevin will be out in South Africa for the draw and immediately afterwards he will be meeting the local coordinators and representatives of each venue where England will be playing their group games. Crucially we can get the latest information from Kevin about the preparations that are being made, what each city can offer and how does accommodation, transport and safety figure in the fans experience. If you want an unbiased and honest view from a fans perspective then Kevin will deliver that in spades!
Miles - Sportops - Who sent this earlier this week;
I'm currently in South Africa, its my fifth visit this year. I'm staying until after the draw.
I will be back in time to come to the meeting in Sheffield on Dec 10th.
We have done very extensive research here , in fact I'm virtually living here until next June.
I believe we have some great accommodation solutions at all levels and a lot of good advice and experience to offer.
We booked a group of Millwall fans recently, three weeks , flights and accom for well under £2,000 per person .
Paul Campbell - Travel Butlers
Paul heads up a company who specialise in trips to South Africa and crucially he knows the availability of cars, coaches, hotels etc etc etc. He is willing to help you in making your booking, advise were he can and suggest the things to do in South Africa whilst not watching a game of footy! I spent quite a long time with him on the phone recently and he gave me some very valuable advice which was taken on board. You will find that he has a wealth of knowledge about this country and bags of experience when it comes to organising trips for people from this country. Crucially he has helped cricket and rugby fans on their many trips to SA so he may well have the right advice for you too.
The venue is restricted to 150 people so please make sure you are there.

Hope fully it will be a pretty easy England group, preferably having Honduras, Algeria, Slovenia or New Zeland in our group.

Re: World Cup 2010
England
USA
Slovenia
Algeria
I can handle that.
Also our opening game against USA is on my birthday
On another note, how annoying was that American woman? So bloody patronising and self-centred.
Come on England!!!

Did anyone hear the Dingle on radio Dee Daa , he wanted to know where England were playing the home games in the World Cup as they were not down to play them at Wembley, what a plank made a proper fool of himself..
