MK Dons. Love them or loathe them?
Is it just me that despises them and all that they represent?
I've made a point of going to watch AFC Wimbledon matches in my town colours whenever we've had the misfortune to have to play in Milton Keynes to show my support for them. Anyone else feel anything towards them?

No it aint just you.
I despise them with every bone in my body.
Plastic football Club who should have had to climb through non league, instead they stole the soul of Wimbledon and stole their place in the league system
Here's hoping AFC Wimbledon catch, and overtake them soon, so some form of justice is metered out.

The Wimbledon fans and club openly invite supporters of other teams who have to play at MkStadium to go to the Winbledon game instead of giving MkPlastic your money. I just wish more than just me did it!
AFC Winmbledon are only 2 leagues behind MK now and sitting 9th in the Blue Square Premier having had to restart from the very bottom. MkFranchise should never have been allowed to exist.

Not keen on them, although I wouldn't go as far as saying I loathe them. I would like to see AFC Wimbledon catch up with them and give them a pasting though

Any club's attendances would've fallen after years of mismanagement. Moved out of Plough Lane abruptly, only telling the fans on the final day of the season that it would be the last match, spending years at Selhurst Park being fed lies about possible return to Wimbledon, being taken over by Norwegians obsessed with the notion of a move to Dublin, and when that fell through, flogging the side, and watching them trying to move to Milton Keynes. Make no mistake, had Wimbledon found a suitable site near Plough Lane, built a new stadium, and retained even modest on-field success, their attendances would never have bottomed out so spectacularly. The success of AFC Wimbledon is testament to this.
I think it's apparent by now that I'm coming out on the same side as most here. I despise MK Dons, and that hellish town they play in.

i honestly don't know the story behind what happened and how they became MK Dons, how it was "commericialised" and how the whole thing is a problem...therefore i'm indifferent to the situation.
if anyone could sum it up....go for it :p

I was gonna write something of my own, but Wikipedia was so much more succinct....
"Following the publication of the Taylor Report, which recommended that all top-flight clubs play in all-seater stadiums, the club decided that it needed to move from its Plough Lane home in 1991. Wimbledon began to groundshare with nearby Crystal Palace, an originally temporary arrangement that ended up lasting over ten years. In May 2002, after considering a variety of new sites, the club was granted permission to relocate 56 miles (90 km) north to Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire. The move away from south London was deeply unpopular both with the majority of the club's established fan base and football supporters generally. The majority of supporters responded to the planned relocation by forming a new club, AFC Wimbledon. Wimbledon moved in September 2003, and became Milton Keynes Dons in June 2004."
There's obviously a bit more to it than that, their attempt to move to Dublin of course, and the suspicion that when Hammam moved the club to Selhurst, that a merger with Crystal Palace had definitely been considered. All in all, a complete mess.

Re: MK Dons. Love them or loathe them?
ok, so basically people were pissed off about it because their club had to move away from where they were based, and consequently changed name aswell.
i suppose i can sympathise to a degree, if i was told donny were building a new stadium in leeds i'd be pretty pissed too, a name change would tip me over the edge, we'd no longer have any affiliation with donny at all etc...
that being said, i dont hate MK dons....i dont feel anything for them, as i have no interest in them if that makes sense
