Any Gardeners on Here
If so what do you grow ?.
Post your tips and hints on here for others to try.
If you are planting peas or beans then soak them in a cup of water for 24 hours before planting, gives them a flying start.
Start them of in toilet roll tubes filled with compost. 1 or 2 per tube. Once they start to grow then you can plant the whole tube straight into wherever you want to grow them. It cuts down the root shock to the plants when transpanting.
Same thing with sweet peas.

I do a lot of "planting" in my job.
But the things i plant aren't expected to grow.

Bloody hope not digger. Had a problem in Thornaby Cemy last week, someone put a headstone on my grans grave, wrong name. Unfortunately with it being Mothers day my auntie visited and got very upset. Quick e mail to CFYA and it was sorted by noon on the Monday. It was for the grave next door.
Re: Any Gardeners on Here
yes i heard summat about that.
apparently it was meant to be on the grave that's "back to back" with it , but it was facing the wrong way for some reason.
I spent a lot of years working in Thornaby cem in the 1990's.
I did the funeral for the german airman that was buried in 1998 (Richter)

Weedkiller gives your body a good clean out but not recomended.
Dont use it in my garden as I grow exhibition roses and its too costly to replace them if gaught bt any stray drops of weed killer.

Why do they have a better ''class'' of corpse in the 'O' area ? Btw , this is a good section, especially enjoyed the toilet roll advice but how do the seeds burst through the cardboard ?

Been at this house for 4 years nearly and the soil was spent (bit like you see in those Westerns), it takes ages to revitalise the soil and change the near dust into a nice bonding soil but I'm getting there.

Free veg seeds arrived from the RHS, had to be quick to get in and get them.
Now need to change some of my rose beds around to make space for a veg plot, could do with a two tier garden. have lots of stuff in pots and tubs.

pleased to see that our Daffodils are out. like a bit of colour in the yard and it shows spring is on the way.
remember years ago going to the allotments with my dad. He was always growing things like spuds, carrots, beans etc.

daffs over our way are about 2 weeks behind last year but ready to burst into colour. Planted over 40,000 of them in the last 4 autumns as part of our residents group battle to brighten up our area.
