Was a massive shock, especially as no-one knows how he died. It's not often you hear of 33-year-olds just dying in their sleep.

Massive shock for me - I was a big Boyzone fan back in the 90s and went to see them a couple of times on their comeback tours, OK they were never going to raise the standard of modern music but Stephen had such a passion and enthusiasm for performing. He was a lovely lad as well Crying or Very sad

Apparently a spokesman for the family has said they don't think it was drink or drugs related so its looking like heart failure or the adult form of Sudden Infant death syndrome. Makes you realise just how precious life is!

Have to say I too was so shocked this morning. 33 is no age to die..

I hope that it is proved conclusively that he died from S.I.D.S. or heart failure, if only to stop those with a revoltlingly sick sense of humour...

Personally I have never been able to find the death of anyone to be a moment for hilarity.

Yes had the crappy text 'supposed' funnies all day. what is it with these sick people or am I over-sensitive ? I didn't particularly rate the man or group for that matter but this sort of instant sick humour seems to reflect our very sick society. Sad

No I don't think you are being over sensitive at all... I don't get this whole lets laugh at someone dying thing at all...

Perhaps they never had any one die young that they loved?

Or lets get topical and slightly controversial ..the nasty attempts at humour I have seen so far all seem to lean towards a distinctively homophobic opinion..

Probably because (apart from the fact he was part of a boyband) there was nothing else to pick faults with him. I'm not saying he was faultless but apart from his coming out there was no other scandal in his public life, in fact for a celebrity he had a pretty normal life

It said on Sky news that his parents had made a statement saying it was a tragic accident, not sure what that means.
