Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Well it is our own fault i know its expensive to run but you would have thought the bright spark what designed it and the people what planned it did not incorporate undersoil heating

I suppose the problem was that they had to cut costs when building the ground, we were supposed to have a floating roof and that had to be cut from the original design, not sure if undersoil heating was in the original plans or not , i suppose that was the downside to the council paying for it all, if they had needed more money it would have had to go back to the council to get the go ahead and we all know how long those things can take...we would probably still have been playing in Belle Vue... I think the key to this will be if they had the pitch covered before this cold spell/snow started. Temperatures in Doncaster were down to -6 last night but if they left the snow on the covers it would insulate a little. Its supposed to get up to -1 by Thursday and covers should work to -5

Look at the state of the Burnley pitch last night and that game went ahead -f it had been Rovers they'd have cancelled it No

Lets just hope that it has done the trick, it is snowing again now which will make it a bit milder...must have been cold last night though the car took some starting...
