The Yorkshire Football Forums
Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

The Following Quotes Are Copied And Pasted From Here> http://www.redcafe.net/f6/barnsleys-fans-273380/

It was pretty much carnage tonight.
There were about 7,000 in with a 5,000 application, the stand was absolutely rammed - we didn't go down to the concourse at half time or else there would have been no chance of us getting back. The riot police were going into the stand before half time. If you don't consider that provoking then I don't know what you can call it.
Provocative police tactics as well - with the riot police and dogs and stuff.
Best away I've been to.

Just back from Barnsley. Utter carnage in the concourse at half time - someone kicked open the exit gates and dozens jibbed in. Then the riot police arrived and ordered the bar shut, then followed by a bunch of United raiding it.
Then, in response to chants of "We're going on the pitch" half of the South Yorkshire police turn up in full riot gear, with horses and dogs (cue the Park song!) to attempt to keep United fans off the pitch, only to see Barnsley fans invade it from behind them.
However, a very good anti-Glazer protest in the second half with chants/banners etc. And I couldn't help but chuckle when Owen's goal was greeted with "You scouse bastard" from the United end though. He looked crestfallen and had to be ushered away by Anderson, poor smurf.

That was the best away I've done in a good while.
We were class if not slightly badly behaved.
Went for a piss at half time and the riots cops were having a stand off with the United fans with batons at the ready

Why the hell would fans choose to riot at a game like this?

Still got a bitter taste in their mouths after Sunday it seems...
