I've been reading a lot of leeds fans views on the net, heard a few at work talking, spoke to one or two yesterday and listened some on the radio over the last few week, and i just can not understand why they are so out of touch with reality,

99% of Barnsley fans are more then happy with a mid table finish every season and would settle for 4th bottom every year because we understand we are on a tight budget and have to cut our cloth to suit, yet 99% of Leeds fans demand a promotion push, and when it don't look likely, start protest and manager bashing, but how on earth do they expect a promotion push when they are no better then 90% of the league, lust take a look at the teams that start the Derby yesterday,

Steele, free.
Hassell, free.
McNulty, nominal fee.
McEveley - free.
Foster - 50k.
Wiseman & Done combined - about 50k.
Perkins - free.
Butterfield - academy.
Vaz Te - free.
Davies - free.
Addison - loan.

Lonergan - 200k approx

Connolly - free
White - academy
O' Dea - loan
Kisnorbo - free

Vayrynnen - free
Brown - free
Pugh - loan
Nunez - free

Keogh - loan
McCormack - 300k approx

Look around the internet and you'll see most Leeds fans saying things like they should be beating teams like Barnsley, if they want to be in and around the top 6 at the end of the season but why should they, what have they done/spent to warrent this ???????????

Simply because they have ideas above their station...Owls and Blades are just the same...one time massive clubs or so they think...they want instant success... a long period of dissapointment is in store i'm afraid..

reason people are fucked off is because we've spunked £7mill on destroying elland road, have plans to create fucking Beeston into the dining capital of the North i'll stick to Yorkshire Fried Chicken ta. We've made well £20 million in recent years and what has been invested in the squad? Fuck all, we've been paying the 4th msot expensive season ticket prices in the country for years with the famous tag "you want premiership football you have to pay premiership prices" that is why Leeds are fucked off and despite all that 100's of people still back Bates and believe he is good for the club, if they can't see that he's already killed us then there's no hope.

i can take being beaten by Barnsley, what i don't like is losing having given such a gutless performance, no fight, no heart

feel free to find a quote that says "we should be playing in europe, in the play offs/already promoted cos we are Leeds"

Good post LL, it does appear that many Leeds supporters I know both inside and outside of work are starting to be more realistic about your current situation. Not totally but it's a start , they are at least thinking about getting off their high horses.
Yes NIGHTY you went on an all out attack on Keith Hill prior and at the beginning of this season, by now you should be showing your arse around Barnsley. That attack was without any basis at all, little fact and much conjecture. Razz
