Re: New Manager
Paul Tisdale obviously... Done a great job! Good football and still young
Mark Yates wouldn't be a bad appointment either!
Still think Deano will stay though.

All these managers would've been good appointments after sod, not now. We need someone with similar beliefs as dean, these players would do sod etc no favours

Re: New Manager
How many of our squad are out of contract at the end of the season? Think it's quite a few.

Re: New Manager
Which is a basic exaggeration that everyone uses.
It's not like a new manager will be tied down to players he doesn't want, under long contracts.

Re: New Manager
If sod took over now, he'd keep maybe 4 or 5 out of around 20 players. We'd be starting from scratch all over again.
The side we have now, have backbone, grit, determination, that would all be lost in an instant

Re: New Manager
Nobody (with a brain) are saying SO'D to come back though. IF DS goes, we don't have to find his double imo. We'll need a lot of new players in the summer anyway, whether DS stays, or a new manager.

Not talking about he summer though, talking about now. If he goes and we replace him with a pretty footballing manager we won't go up

Re: New Manager
We will. This league is shit.
Plus we wouldn't just be appointing a manager with just the rest of the season in mind.

Re: New Manager
Don't understand the league is shit stuff, there's only 7 different teams to last year, out of 24. So 17 of these sides were here last year when it was a supposed much harder division.
I don't understand your last point, I didn't say they would be, but we'd need a manager who could get the best out of these players

Re: New Manager
Look at the teams that went up from L1 last season though, compared to who came down (pompey, Coventry finances etc.).
I know i've not gone to games etc. blah blah blah but we've played poor a lot and were 2nd... I hear Sheff U fans constantly moaning about how poor they've been too, yet they're 3rd. The standard this year is very poor.
A good manager will work with any players... We still have some very talented players, aswell as the grafters tbf.

Yes but the 4 that came up from league 2 are far far better than the 4 that went down. It's a poor league, but its always a poor league.

I didn't pay too much attention to L1 when we were in the championship, but i can't remember it being as poor. You had Southampton, Brighton, Norwich, Huddersfield, Sheff Wednesday. Didn't Huddersfield fail to get promotion on something like 90 points?

The standard of L1 this season is a lot poorer to what it was the last time we were in it.

Oh that is a definite. It'd take something special for L1 to be that standard again though... Probably the best L1 that.

The team we had that got promoted from L1 before would have been walking this league by a country mile and would have clinched promotion weeks before the season was over.

Re: New Manager
The team we had in league one was struggling like mad up until feb, march time.
We lost to sides like Yeovil (home and away) Walsall, Hartlepool, Northampton, Southend, Brighton.
Looking back with rosé tinted specs

No, but this season we don't really have those sorts of teams. I saw Crawley play... They were terrible.

Re: New Manager
Its a totally different league to the championship, less time on the ball, less football, big bruisers, its always been the case.
Successful sides build a team that suits this, Charlton last year, us and sheff u this year
