Rovers found them very average, they were lucky to get a draw against us, goal scored not given after the keeper scooped it from behind the line, but having seen the footage from last week you lot know all about that.....

Only a very, very uninformed Wednesday fan would have come away with such a crass prediction, certainly no one on here. Some observations from last night;
It's been said for weeks, but it's now beyond urgent, Darren Purse needs dropping. Last night at the first goal, he's screaming at defenders on the 18 yard line, meanwhile they're getting on with it and taking the corner, myself and some others behind the goal yelling at him to pay attention. He doesn't, he's nowhere, and the ball ends up in the back of the net. Add to this his poor positioning, decision making, and distribution, and you have another shocking performance.
Everything that's been said about Buxton doesn't really need repeating, pretty much more of the same here. Yeah, I feel for the guy, he's giving his best, but he's not playing his preferred position, he was signed as a utility player, not an ever present. But he definitely needs dropping, he's had a hand in way too many goals that we've conceded of late. Simek's fitness is obviously an ongoing issue, but the guy's never gonna get fit sitting in the stands, I'd be seriously considering playing him.
Tommy Spurr is a problem for me. I love the guy, of course, but he looks as lost as Buxton on the other side at times lately. It probably wouldn't hurt him to have him sat on the bench once every so often, but the lack of a competent replacement makes this very unlikely indeed. (I believe that we don't have enough in midfield to drop Michael Gray back into left-back)
Rovers found them very average, they were lucky to get a draw against us...
I think that was the worst thing about last night, for long spells we at least matched them, they are certainly not a great side by any stretch of the imagination. At 2-1, in the opening stages of the second half, we looked most likely to score next and really make a game of it. Four horrendous defensive moments have served to very much flatter the home side.

Re: Watford away
I agree totally Dan, Donkey Darren should be dropped, and Laws should try last seasons defence, put Wood in there with Beevers or Hinds.
If i were manager Purse would be gone in January, and we would be in the top 6 by February..
