Injuries and suspensions
Joe Bennett is the latest injury concern for Boro, after he left a Reserve game on crutches with a foot problem after kicking the studs of an opposition player.
Barry Robson, below, will be assessed ahead of the game after missing both last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Swansea City and Tuesday's 4-1 win over Doncaster Rovers with a hamstring injury.
Julio Arca limped off during the win at the Keepmoat during the week and will also be checked ahead of the match.
Isaiah Osbourne will be assessed after picking up a knock in training last week, but remains a doubt for what would be his final game in a Boro shirt before ending his loan spell and returning to Aston Villa.
Emanuel Pogatetz has returned to light training after the hamstring injury he sustained during the 3-0 home win over Scunthorpe United on Boxing Day.
Rhys Williams has missed the last two matches with a pelvic injury and is expected to be out for at least a couple more weeks.
Jeremie Aliadiere is out for two-to-three weeks after damaging ankle ligaments during the 1-0 defeat against Sheffield United two weeks ago.
Seb Hines is a longer-term absentee with ankle and medial knee ligament injuries and had an operation five weeks ago to stabilise the ankle before being assessed further in a few weeks.
Matthew Bates is also a long-term injury concern, out with a cruciate ligament injury sustained in pre-season and is not expected to play this season.
