Kick Off Delayed
By about 10 minutes due to a ticketing errors with the new system
Probably caused by Yorkie trying to use the barcode off a tin of beans to get in

Re: Kick Off Delayed
Time we started to push on this season, attacking thrust not 'tippy tappy' footy has now got to be the way forward coming into what will be a very difficult season.
Fortune will only favour the brave and especially those that want to grab a game by it's horns...........it HAS to be US.

Re: Kick Off Delayed
The first team treated it lilke a training game, never moved out of first gear. Billy got a knock early on and went very carefully after that. Spurr and Friend linked up well, had decent-ish games and Naylor looked pretty solid. Seemed to be an error by Sully for their goal 2nd half of trialists kept a clean sheet.
Crap game - great day though

Hope you had a great day out, reading the Carlisle board it does indeed appear that the goal was caused by both Friend and Sulli.
We do need to start getting a lot more serious now, less of the 'tippy tappy' and wave after wave of sustained attacks from a more settled team. What the hell SO'D expected to learn from putting that 2nd. half team out is beyond me.
I am hoping that we will see something resembling our first team out against the Blades on Tuesday. The time for triallists should now be drawing to an end and our lads should be getting plenty of match fitness our first match is only 14 days away.

I'm guessing he's hoping to learn who to offer a contract to on merit as opposed to players being carried by our regular team so we don't end up with another Souza
Listening to O'Driscoll last week on Radio Sheffield he could be in the position to offer several of them a deal - I'll gladly put up with the crap I saw today in pre-season if it means he gets the right players

Re: Kick Off Delayed
I reckon given the choice Sod would rather play these games behind closed doors and forget about friendlies...it was obvious that yesterdays game was not about the result , he probably has his first team in mind maybe the one that started yesterday bar Sully, the second hald apart from Gary Woods and Hird was all trialists, yesterday could have been the last chance Sod had to see them before he makes up his mind...and that whats important getting the right ones we don't want anymore duds...plus i wouldn't want any of our players getting injured this close to Brighton...

A very poor showing from the doncaster supporters for this game , especially as it was to help out a former Rovers player..i would estimate around 100 that made the journey..

I would imagine come Tues we'll see more of a 1st team with one or two trialists slotted into the 1st half and perhaps 1 or 2 into the second half team as opposed to wholesale changes,
Having said that nothing surprises me
I'm absolutely sure SOD would prefer to play these behind closed doors
and some on the vsc would have us slitting our wrists before a ball is kicked in anger so I suppose as far as the team is concerned behind closed doors is a preferable option

I've got to say, the two or five pints pre-match made it a very pleasent afternoon...as for the VSc , i will have to take your word for it , i still can't get on it, not that i will lose too much sleep over that...

I think that Yorkie meant he couldn't be arsed about reading some of the shite that is on there as opposed to the opportunity to get on it.
He reads it but rarely if ever posts, like him if there are one or two on here ..........I would much rather be here.
