I've had a dream
“1...........2..............41.............28..............27................17...............bonus number.........5”. Ah well, back to work Monday but at least Rovers won! And what a win, dead vivid it was!!
Just a few hours earlier we were e were sat in the Chessy – Another reason to be disappointed with the new season following the untimely demise of the ‘Toad’. At least the Black Sheep wasn’t too bad a replacement for the Zigger Zagger, sadly taken from us in such infancy. However the days of the short nip across the road to the ground following pre match drinks were now gone, and the sessions were to be cut short to allow for the longer walk from now on.
All seemed worthwhile though with what was about to happen!
Kyle Bennett was man of the match with a fantastic hat-trick, although to be fair the last one could have gone to Hayter had he not unselfishly passed it to Bennett with the goal at his mercy. Bristol city couldn’t live with the brilliant Rovers, who seemed to be having all the luck that they had been denied all season, paid back all in one go. Even the ref was neutral.
It was a great day as Rovers fans sang O’Driscoll’s name in unison, and the occasion seemed to dispel any inhibitions that should have left his former detractors looking embarrassed.
Rovers 3 Bristol C 0
